I'll go anywhere as long as it's forward. ~David Livingstone

Emerging monarch Dear God,

Thank you for the opportunity of this new day, and for the people you have put into my life. Please watch over my husband and children as they go about their work and play. Help me look past my own selfish agenda and open my heart to live this day for your purpose, not allowing what I want to get in the way of your will for me.  In your name, amen.

For the past few years these have been the words that have run through my mind every morning between the time my alarm goes off and the time my feet hit the floor. From that point on, I blindly accept that whatever the day brings, and with whomever my path crosses, is meant to be.

THAT is my attempt at keeping life simple. (Which does NOT mean it is stress-free).

There is no getting around the fact that life is ever-changing. Yet, in my eyes, it is life's changes which give us the opportunity to grow as people. Some changes are less desirable than others...unless we can find a way to respond to the change so that it engages our faith in the circumstances of life occurring for a reason larger than our little human minds can imagine.

For example, this past week I initiated a discussion with my boss based on another which my mom had initiated with me. The details are not overly relevant, but the gist of the conversation is that my work life is going to change [again].

On the one hand, it means more time at home with my children (which is never a bad thing) and more time to write and more time to study my favorite subject [addiction].  On the other hand, it puts completing my 4,000 hours of internship on the slow burner.

So, as I look at this change, I take the most positive approach.  If I am praying as I say I do every single morning, then even though I don't know why my life is taking this turn, I accept it with the understanding God is using this curve to continue my path to what I say I want...His will be done.

My big question for you this week...who is running the show in your life?

Are there changes that need to be made?

What holds you back from making the moves you need [or should be] making?

Maybe it's time to take a leap of faith...
