Accepting the inevitable challenges of life is so much easier when you have faith in your corner. A weight being lifted from your shoulders, faith is there to carry you when you just don’t believe you can take another step forward.
Yet deciding to have faith does not mean you can just leave your life to chance or give up and say, “What’s meant to happen will happen, so there is no use in trying to find an alternative.”
Where is the balance between what is within our control and what should be left to faith?
THAT is the million dollar question.
Every morning, before my feet hit the floor and only after counting my blessings, I ask God to open my eyes, my heart, and my mind to what His purpose is for my life. (Beyond trying to be the best wife, mother, daughter, friend, counselor and woman I can be.)
It is not a rote rambling prayer spewed out each morning, but a sincere, heart-spoken request. And at the end of the day I do a mental review, as I fall asleep, recounting who I have come in contact with and whose words and actions have touched me.
I make this request of God each day because I know how easily my own selfish needs and priorities can sneak into the picture of my everyday life.
My husband has a tendency to tease me because I speak at times about “something greater than ourselves” (he’s always makes me giggle when he prances around pretending to be me)…but I see him doing this less often lately.[Don’t tell him I said so, but I think he actually believes I may be on to something with my desire to worry less and concentrate more on what is under my control.]
Walking by faith. Why would anyone choose such a thing?
Why WOULDN’T they?
Try letting go and walking in faith today.
